Our colleague Andy Marlow is planning to walk 103km in 24 hours in the London 2 Brighton event for the British Heart Foundation.

The only thing people at Trade Direct Insurance like more than charity is rolling up our sleeves and getting involved. One of our team, Andy Marlow, is no exception.

2 years ago Andy participated in London 2 Brighton. The challenge: walk from London to Brighton in 24 hours or less. With a band of daring Trade Direct colleagues, Andy was able to complete the route in 24 hours and 26 minutes. Needless to say he’s been biding his time to take on the challenge again and beat the magic 24 hours. That time is now.

The London 2 Brighton Challenge is back on 24th June 2017. hundreds of challengers will be walking, jogging and even running the route, and TDI’s Andy Marlow will be among them. Not only that, he’s bringing his brother along for good measure. The two of them are raising money for the British Heart Foundation, with an aim to raise £1,000 for the charity.

Here is what Andy’s brother Matt has to say about his daring charitable feat and what it means to them:

“Many many people in my life have been affected by cardiac problems some are not here today but others are still due to great work from the British Heart Foundation and we would like to help them continue this work.”

Here’s a summary of the London 2 Brighton event:

“There’s 100km of paths and trails, the North Downs, South Downs and some wonderful Sussex countryside before the coast line comes into view and the welcome finish line awaits down the home straight of Brighton Racecourse.

Whether you’re a walker and new to endurance events, or a marathon runner looking to up the distance – you’ll get the best support and hospitality through day and night all the way to the finish line. With some training and determination anyone can conquer London to Brighton. Join us!”
